Circulation Procedures

Patrons to be served

The library media center services students, parents, teachers and staff at The Young Women’s Academy for Academic and Civic Development.

Length of loan period

Materials are checked out for a maximum of two weeks.

Number of items to be loaned

Students are allowed to check out two materials. Staff is allowed to check out an unlimited number of materials.

Materials to be loaned

Materials that can be loaned to staff include AV equipment, books, and videos. All equipment is due at the end of the school year.

List of available resources

AV equipment such as TVs, DVD/VHS players, overhead projectors, computer projectors, carts, laptop computers and screens are available for checkout.

Over-dues

Over-due materials will not be subject to fines.

Lost books

It is the responsibility of students who lose materials to pay for them before exiting the school.

Fines

Fines will not be accessed for late materials. However, damaged materials will be accessed a fine. The fine will be due when the student exits the school.

Interlibrary loans

In the case where materials needed by faculty or students is not available in the media center, every effort will be made to acquire the materials through interlibrary loan. Please see the media specialist with your request.
